In an interview with our correspondent, the Managing Director of N500 Mall, Mrs Funke Fajusigbe, said the company came into online business to cater for the needs of Nigerian consumers at an affordable price – N500.

According to her, “it is an online mall that basically caters for everything around N500. It’s just the basic idea of affordability and possibility.

“The prices are not more than N500. We ensure that we are not over maximizing profit opportunity but getting value and also getting things that are easily affordable,” Fajusigbe said.

She further explained that the essence of that affordability strategy is “to cut away the margin of expenses and multi-tasking prices consumers pay for.

“Most times, Nigerians are priced according to how the sellers feel but on our site, they will be getting quality products because our vendors are carefully selected.

“We try to screen the products to ensure that what individual consumer gets to have quality and durable. People have started shopping and the response is good,” she added.

The MD further explained that “the company operates in partnership with competent delivery system outfit for consumers needs and effects.”

Some of the products available are kiddies shoes, ladies apparel, back to school backpacks, phone accessories, food and groceries among others.

As deadly COVID-19 is ravaging the world, N500 online store has put measures in place for consumers’ safety.

One of such strategies is the free gifts of face shields. Consumers are expected to buy items from the mall and in return get free face shields for their safety.
