My Defection From PDP To APC Is For Good Governance, Not Political Interest – Nwoko

News

The senator representing Delta-North Senatorial District, Ned Nwoko, has stated that his defection from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) is not for political interest or personal gain, but to align with good governance of the ruling party.

According to a statement made available to journalists on Sunday

by his Media Consultant, Michael Ogah, Senator Nwoko officially announced that his defection from the PDP to the APC was not driven by electoral ambitions.

The senator, who made this known  while addressing party supporters and stakeholders in Agbor, Delta State, clarified that his defection to the APC was borne out his desire to align with a ruling party that “prioritizes good governance, economic development and the overall welfare of the people of Delta-North and Nigeria in general.”

Senator Nwoko said: “I did not leave the PDP because of elections. My decision was made after a deep reflection on the party’s internal challenges and my commitment to ensuring that my people receive the best representation.”

Saying that he has been noted for his contributions to legislative development and economic advocacy, Senator Nwoko stressed that his focus remains on delivering quality representation and supporting policies that drive progress in Delta State.

Recall that Nwoko’s defection to the APC has stirred political conversations across Delta-North, particularly in Agbor, raising speculating on the implications of his defection ahead of the next general polls.

Nwoko emphasised that his “decision to move to the ruling party was not for personal gain but for the greater benefits of his constituents.”
