Working in the house of God means finding one thing or the other to do in God’s house. The book of James 2:14 says ‘Faith without works is dead’. We are justified by works, not by faith alone, as faith without works is a sign of an unchanged life or a spiritually dead heart.

As Christians, we need to show our faith through the work that we do in the house of God. If as Christians, we do not have anything to do in the house of God, we are encouraged to change now as the year is running out already. As the year is just starting, let us find one thing or another to do in the Vineyard of God. And by so doing, we will reap the rewards.

What Are The Benefits Of Working In God’s House?

Spiritual growth—Serving others can help you discover and develop your spiritual gifts.
Joy and peace—Serving others can bring you joy and peace from obedience.
Becoming more like Jesus—Serving others can help you focus on others instead of yourself, and become more like Jesus.
Increased faith—Serving others can increase your faith by revealing new potentials in yourself and in the Church.
Experiencing God’s presence—Serving others can help you experience God’s presence in new ways.
Preparing for eternity—Your work prepares you for eternity and shows the world what the future Kingdom will look like.
Finding joy in work—You can find joy in what may be mundane work, as God created and found joy in his work.
Inheriting the kingdom— Faithful work for the Lord can lead to inheriting the kingdom as a reward.
