Edo State Peoples Democratic Party Chairman, Dr. Tony Aziegbemi, has said that the days of PDP being in opposition in Edo State are over for good.

He averred that he has fulfilled his first promise to Edo people by capturing Edo State for PDP, adding that the miraculous taking over the seat of power from the ruling All Progressives Congress in the state signals the end of APC in the state.

“I have every reason to thank God for this unprecedented victory of PDP in Edo State. What has happened in the political terrain of our state is a manifestation of the fact the Edo have finally realised that APC was occupying a house it did not build; now the real owner of the building has come to take over his property.”

“When I was begging my party leaders and members to give me their mandate that I will return PDP back to Government House, people thought I was joking. We have crossed the first hurdle and remaining the last one. And I know that our God that did this for us will equally finish what he has started.”

“PDP in Edo State has made history; we have done it before we can, together, do it again. We must not close our eyes and go to bed thinking that the war is over; there are many political wars to fight.”

“We cannot allow this opportunity pass us by, now that we have our flagbearer, we must all join hands to ensure that on September 19, Governor Godwin Obaseki is overwhelmingly re-elected into office. And I know it is not beyond us”, he said.
