He attributed this decision to ongoing leadership issues within the Labour Party and expressed his intention to support the President in efforts towards national development. In a letter presented during the plenary session by Speaker Abbas Tajudeen, Chollom articulated that the internal disputes within the party had obstructed his ability to affiliate with any particular faction, which in turn impeded his capacity to provide effective representation.
